SEMINARS & SPEAKERS
Shane Claiborne (Friday evening Keynote, Saturday Seminar #1 & #2)
Bestselling Author, Prominent Christian Activist, Sought-after Speaker and Recovering Sinner With tears and laughter, Shane Claiborne unveils the tragic messes we've made of our world and the tangible hope that another world is possible. His ministry experience is varied, from a 10-week stint working alongside Mother Teresa in Calcutta, to a year spent serving a wealthy mega-congregation at Willow Creek Community Church outside Chicago. During the recent war in lraq, Shane spent three weeks in Baghdad with the lraq Peace Team. Shane is also a founding partner of The Simple Way, a faith community in inner city Philadelphia that has helped to birth and connect radical faith communities around the world.
Matt Maher (Saturday evening Keynote)
Bestselling Song Writer/Artist Worship Leader, Former youth Minister Like all artists, Matt's life experiences have shaped his music. "lt has given me a heart for two things: One is to interact with culture more and another is to be a vehicle for unity," say Maher. "l feel like there have to be people who are willing to just stand in the gap between Christian thought, and society. We are supposed to be in the world but not of the world. My mandate as a Christian is not to retreat, but to be a light. ln a post Christian society, everybody is called to be a missionary wherever we are. The mission field has changed. The mission field is everywhere."
Outcast BMX (Seminar #1 & #2 on the basketball courts) Outcast BMX shows are mind blowing events featuring some of the top pro and amateur BMX riders in the country. Outcast BMX riders have been featured on the Dew Action Sports Tour and the cover of Ride BMX magazine. Based out of Nashville, TN, this team travels the country speaking, flipping and tail-whipping for audiences of all ages. Their back flips, superman seat grabs, and other jaw dropping stunts are guaranteed to grab your attention - and more important, these guys love Jesus and are not afraid to share it! Check them out during the seminar times over on the basketball courts.
Worship Tent (Seminar #1 & #2) We are so blessed by the Campus Ministries of our Kentucky United Methodist Colleges and Wesley Foundations. This year the worship tent will feature some of the very best that these ministry teams have to offer. You can check out not only their talent, but their witness by worshiping with us during the seminar times or visiting their tables under the “New Song Merch Tent.” Online connect with these ministries at www.kyumc.org/colleges
Youth Leaders (Saturday at 8:30 am & Seminar #1) Whether you are paid or volunteer; veteran or rookie; we hope you will join us in Harbin Hall for our Youthworker Resource Seminar. Being facilitated by David Sparks of The KY Conference of The United Methodist Church, these life-giving times will be informational and instructional. Join us for a free continental breakfast at 8:30 am on Saturday or join us for the noon seminar time (not meeting for seminar 2). We will spend some time hearing about how we can be better together – best practices of successful youth ministry – and experience some peer learning/resourcing.

Children’s Tent (Seminar #1 & #2) Each year
our Children’s tent is a great time geared to the under-12 crowd of hands on learning and adventure. This year we will incorporate our time with the children with The Michala Riggle Beat Autism Foundation. New Song is pleased to be partnering with Michala this year to show all young people how they can make a difference in their community and the world!
